Dr. Henderson believes in helping clients be the best version of themselves while actualizing the desires of their hearts.

Clinically, Dr. Henderson employs an integrated strength-based framework that is informed by different multicultural approaches, when connecting with clients. These approaches are informed by Black psychology, multicultural psychology, interpersonal therapy, vocational therapy, vocational rehabilitation, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other strength-based models. Dr. Henderson values having a strong clinical relationship with his clients and to establish that relationship, Dr. Henderson begins his work by letting clients know he is a servant. In his clinical work with college students, Dr. Henderson's clients primarily presented with depression and anxiety. To address those concerns Dr. Henderson employed a comprehensive approach that included psychoeducation (i.e., in conjunction with talk therapy), and an array of interpersonal therapy models (e.g., addressing role dispute & interpersonal areas of growth). Dr. Henderson also worked at the Education and Development Center (EDC) as a psychometrician conducting assessments (e.g., WAIS IV) for clients receiving services through the department of rehabilitation.

Dr. Henderson’s certifications include being licensed as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) and as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). Dr. Henderson specializes in working with depressed individuals, athletes (i.e., sports psychology), and life coaching. As a CRC, Dr. Henderson specializes in helping persons with disabilities attain their highest level of autonomy. We all live with some indicators of personal, emotional, or physical pain, and helping people heal is something that he is very passionate about.
